Right, but the real question is when will that happen?

For those who missed out on developments overnight, European leaders look set to agree on a long extension to the Brexit saga or as Tusk coined it before, a 'flextension' which will be no longer than a year. This is mainly to avoid a series of rolling extensions in the future if they were to grant the UK a short extension up until June.

There will no doubt be a lot of conditions laid out in the process but the bottom line is that they almost certainly won't be refusing an extension request later today.

In the mean time, cross-party talks between the UK government and Labour are still not really going anywhere so don't expect any Brexit breakthrough to materialise any time soon. In other words, the Brexit limbo for the pound is likely going to continue with no clear end in sight over the next few months.
