ATHENS (MNI) – Greek Finance Evangelos Venizelos appealed Monday to
his German and French counterparts for rapid approval of the sixth
tranche of European aid for Greece, arguing that the new government
would honor its commitment to the austerity measures in the latest
bailout program approved last month.
Venizelos also briefed the two ministers on the progress for
private sector involvement in reducing the country’s outstanding debt by
50%, a ministry official said.
