BERLIN (MNI) – Greek Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou said
Thursday he did not discuss with German Finance Minister Wolfgang
Schaeuble a possible extension of the EU loan agreement with Greece
beyond 2013.

Papaconstantinou told reporters here that he met with Schaeuble on
Wednesday in Berlin but “there was no such discussion” about an
extension of the loan agreement. “It was more on how Greece is advancing
with the budget, how we’re implementing the reforms,” he said.

Earlier today, Papaconstantinou said that there are signs that the
Greek economy was developing better than expected. The minister
reaffirmed that the country will meet its budget targets.
