The famous stout made its debut in 1759, and has left its mark in the worlds of advertising, the arts and the gossip columns.
Personally I remember a trip to Ireland many moons ago when I was in my early twenties. Myself and two mates were staying in a guest house in Salthill, Co Galway. Suffice it to say we went out and had a fair few pints of the black stuff, infact more than I care to remember. To save a few bob we’d rented a room with three single beds in it and the use of a communal bathroom and toilet down the hallway.
The next morning I awoke to find myself sleeping in a double bed in a strange bedroom. I’d obviously gotten up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and lost my way. Luckily no one was using the bedroom at the time as I was totally bollocky- buff and could have given someone a real nasty shock. Guinness certainly left it’s mark on me!!!
