Questioned on the need to amend Nafta, Obama hemmed and hawed and made some comment on the need for environmental and labor standards. Harper said that Nafta and pacts that preceded it have done nothing but balloon the amount of trade for both countries and has been a big success and that there is no need to reopen Nafta.
On Buy American, Harper says that the syncronized global recession requires trading partners not to close the door on a an open, global economy. He expects the US to act accordingly. Well said.
