Hardly, but the dollar is doing a bit better

We're passed the peak of the eclipse in New York and the totality is now offshore.

I had a look at it and at 70%, it was fascinating. Judging by the reactions of the people who were in the full shadow, it was spectacular.

How did markets react? Not much.

However, there are early (very early) signs of a turn in some of the market moves today. EUR/USD has slipped back to 1.1809 from 1.1828. USD/JPY has also ticked up 10 pips. Oil bounced about 20 cents.

Will this be the bigger part of a turnaround? Stay tuned but, unfortunately, markets rarely write such a poetic story.
