Irish Foreign Minister: Euro-zone rescue package was not discussed by finance ministers

Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin says European finance ministers have not discussed a rescue package for euro zone countries, stating at their recent meeting “Finance ministers didn’t discuss anything to do with a rescue package for members of the euro zone” adding “we have to be careful about rumours doing the rounds.”

Meanwhile the ECB said it had no comment on make on the subject of a rescue plan.

EUR/USD has slipped back further, presently at 1.3670.
