  • Voters cast their ballots Sunday for 10 prefectural governors and mayors of five major cities.
  • Incumbents backed by the Liberal Democratic Party and ally Komeito swept the gubernatorial races.
  • The LDP also fared well in the 41 prefectural legislative elections.
