A report via Reuters citing a Mexican source on US talking points:
- Increased asylum cooperation
- Clampdown on trafficking networks
- Mexican southern border enforcement
- Maintaining or increasing immigration detentions
Would Mexico accept tariffs rather than taking a stab at doing these things? I don't see how they wouldn't. Now, I don't think Mexican police enforcement and even the central government really care about these things but they can make a token attempt to keep the border open.
