The comments from the German finance minister, Herr Schaeuble, look to be less than meet the eye when read in context.

Here is the full quote from Reuters:

We have a new government in Greece. It must cope with a difficult task. In tackling it they are entitled to support, but that’s doesn’t mean the we can spare Greece taking the necessary steps.”

Sounds like Germany is willing to offer moral support, but not financial support, based on those comments.

You can see why traders often get frustrated with Reuters. They seem to massage quotes to elicit a response from the market (presumably so they can collect transaction revenue on their various trading portals…) It has been a point of contention for years.

EUR/USD has dipped from session highs of 1.4397 and now trades at 1.4385.
