Calendar for Asian-Pacific session
The Asian-Pacific economic calendar is pretty full for a Friday:
- New Zealand terms of trade index for the third quarter will be released at 2145 GMT. It is expected to rise by 1.3% versus 1.5% in 2Q
- CBA Australia PMI manufacturing for November will be released at 2200 GMT. Last month the index came in at 55.5. The high for the year was at 56.3 in March. The low reached 53.5 in August.
- Australia's AiG performance manufacturing index for Novemberwill be released at 2230 GMT. Last month the index came in at 51.1 which was the lowest for 2017. The high came in at 59.8 in August
- Japan's jobless rate for October release that 2330 GMT. The rate is expected to remain steady at 2.8%. The job to applicant ratio is expected to also remain steady at 1.52
- Japan's overall household spending year on year for October is expected to decline by -0.3%. Last month it also fell by -0.3%. The release will come at 2330 GMT
- Japan's national CPI for October will also be released at 2330. The expectations is for a 0.2% YoY (unchanged from prior month). The ex fresh food is expected to increase by 0.8% versus 0.7% and Ex fresh food, energy is expected to rise by 0.2% versus 0.1% last month.
- Tokyo CPI year on year for November is expected to come in at -0.1% versus -0.2%. Ex fresh food is expected to rise by 0.6% (unchanged) and ex fresh food, energy is expected to rise by 0.2% versus 0.1%
- Japan's capital spending for the third quarter YoY is expected to rise by 3.2% versus 1.5% in 2Q. Capital spending Ex software is expected to rise by 3.1% versus 0.6%. company profits are expected to increase by 18.4% vs 22.6 in 2Q. Finally, company sales last quarter came in at 6.7%. There is no estimate for 3Q. These reports will be released at 2350 GMT
- Japans PMI manufacturing for November final will be released at 0030 GMT. The preliminary number came in at 53.8.
- China's Caixin PMI manufacturing for November will be released at 0145 GMT and is expected to fall to 50.9 from 51.0.
That is a lot of stuff for a Friday....
