For those not in Australia (or perhaps unfamiliar with New South Wales politics), this is all part of the ongoing dual citizenship sags
- Turnbull government member John Alexander resigned from the seat on Saturday due to his dual citizenship
- He will recontest his seat and it looked like he was a pretty good shot at winning it back
- That task is now made harder by the selection of former NSW premier Kristina Keneally to run against him.
The Turnbull government has a wafer thin margin in the lower house ... if Keneally takes the seat there could well be more political turmoil.
