A mildly positive day for Japanese stocks
The Nikkei is closing a little higher, backing away from earlier gains amid a more tepid trading session in general for Japanese stocks.
Asian equities are performing better in general though, following the gains from Wall Street in overnight trading. The Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite are both up 1.5% as we get into the closing stages of the session.
Elsewhere, US futures are keeping mildly higher with E-minis up 0.1% currently.
The market mood is still keeping at some optimism, with the dollar also seen slightly weaker as we look to get into European morning trade. EUR/USD is a tad higher at 1.1267 but still within a 20 pips range today while NZD/USD is up by 0.3% near 0.6500.
All eyes will be on the US jobs report later today though, so that may keep investors more cautious in the European session ahead.
