Tokyo's main index closes lower on the day

A very much subdued day for Asian stocks in general as the trade rhetoric continues to lurk in the background. Although we're seeing a bit of a late recovery in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland stocks ahead of European trading now. The Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite are flat on the day now with the CSI 300 index trimming losses to just 0.2% from about 0.5% earlier.
This could be a good turning point for risk on the day, although once again US Treasury yields have barely budged still. 10-year yields are trading rather tepidly around 2.97% to start the day.
