Tokyo's main index salvages some losses in a glum session for Asian equities
The Nikkei managed to claw back some earlier losses after its major components fell on the back of a weaker performance by Softbank and Nintendo. But in general, Asian stocks were mostly weighed lower as Wall St also struggled with disappointing earnings overnight.
The Shanghai Composite is down by 0.8% currently and that won't lend much help for European stocks to be cheerful in the session ahead. Looking at overall risk sentiment, US equity futures and Treasury yields are near flat levels so that will keep a bit of a quiet mood for yen pairs ahead of the US Q1 GDP report later.
