The Nikkei is trading just above 10,000, trading down more than 2.2% at the moment, a 2 month low. Exporters such as Honda and Sony have been hit hard on the back of a stronger Yen.
Traders say there is support between 9950 and 10,000.
Elsewhere the ASX200 is down 1.3% and the Kospi is down 1%.
