The Nikkei has opened down 0.11%, with JAL down 3%, after report state-backed body to oversee turn around. Resource stocks have also taken a hit after a fall in oil prices.
Elsewhere, the ASX200 is trading 0.9% lower, weighed on by banks and resources.
