Yellen might have a restless night of sleep tonight. There isn’t much on the calendar in the day ahead to throw markets a lifeline.
Asia-Pacific:
- BOJ minutes for March 10-11 meeting
- Japan CPGI
- China PPI and CPI
Europe:
- German final March CPI
- UK construction output
US hours:
- PPI, U Mich preliminary consumer sentiment
I think part of the fear is ahead of Monday’s US retail sales report for March. No matter what happens tomorrow, the market will be extremely skittish about that data point because it will show whether or not the consumer had months of pent-up demand after a rough winter.
