Obama is playing a dicey game of talking down the economy in order get his stimulus package passed. He said a short while ago that he expects another dismal jobs report tomorrow. At some point these repeated efforts to talk down the economy will only depress already anemic economic activity.
Obama likely has not seen the report. The economic policy-types generally get a sneak peak at the data the Thursday night before it is released.
