BERLIN (MNI) – The Namibian police has found a suspected bomb in a
suitcase checked on a plane bound for Germany, the German Federal Crime
Office (BKA) said Thursday.

Namibian law enforcement officers seized a suitcase with a fuse and
a clock at the airport in Windhoek, the Namibian capital, before it was
loaded onto a flight to Munich, Germany, the BKA said. It remains
unclear for the moment whether the device could have exploded.

German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Wednesday the
government has information that terrorists are planning an attack in
Germany at the end of the month. The information “is concrete,” he
stressed.

In reaction to the threat, Germany has increased controls at its
borders as well as at airports, train stations and important buildings.
