According to security firm Trustwave there’s a new virus on the loose that’s targeting virtual wallets of bitcoins. Apparently hundreds of thousands of computers have been infected with 85 wallets being stolen so far. This comes on the back of BC exchanges being hit causing withdrawals to be halted.
It’s certainly a murky world and I think the only safe way to hold your bitcoins is on a flash drive or other removable device. Just don’t end up like this fellow who lost 4 million quids worth after he threw his hard drive away.
