Portugal’s government says it is to analyze ways to to respect EU law but also safeguard national interests.
The statement is in reference to an EU ruling in the PT case, but can be extended across the board quite easily. Countries do what is in their national interest first and what is in the collective interest second, a weakness for the euro.
