Expect a deal, but...

Pres. Trump is making his daily comments on China and other things:

  • He expects to make a deal with China
  • Will put tariffs on $325 billion of China goods if no deal

On other stuff, the President says:

  • Hong Kong and China should be able to work things out
  • He is celebrating F-35 purchases from Poland
  • Poland will remain a big buyer of American goods
  • Poland looking at building major military facility
  • Says deployment of 2000 US troops to Poland being discussed
  • May move some troops from Germany to Poland
  • considering sanctions to block the Nord Stream 2; Germany is putting itself at risk by depending on Russian energy
  • He will meet Putin at G20
  • He is looking at removing visas for Polish people

Shifts to Mexico

  • Threatens tougher actions on Mexico if it doesn't deliver

Poland in....German out. The EURUSD has moved to new session lows on the sanctions threat.
