Just hard to believe...
The flooding in Houston is truly epic and devastating. Needless to say there is many videos that shows the devastation but the before and after is hard to imagine. The NY Times has a short video clip showing what was once, and what currently is.
As an aside, I have a sister and brother in law in Houston but they are higher on a hill. So they are safe from the flooding. They have power and are sitting it out. They are the lucky ones. My brother in laws work building is underwater, and they have many friends who are not so lucky as their homes have been flooded.
The first step is to have the rain go away. The rebuilding is the longer and harder part. Thankfully the search and rescue efforts are going well so far. The death toll is fairly low at 14. Let's hope that stays low through the efforts of not only federal crews, but the local people who are helping with their flat bottom boats.
