Asian Stockmarkets are seeing very small gains at the moment with volumes well down. The Nikkei closed its morning session up 0.1%, the ASX200 +0.15% and the Kospi +0.17%. Oil and commodity stocks were mixed in both Sydney and Tokyo. BHP+1.2%, RIO -2.4% and WPL -1.4%, Nippon Yusen-2%, Itochu-1.8%. Nissan was up 5% on the back of a weekend story saying that it plans to invest $1 bio to build electric cars at the Tennessee plant.
Technology shares were supported in Korea, Samsung +1.7%, LG +2.1%.
Traders say any push higher on the day will be met with profit taking ahead of this week’s FED meeting.
