Dealers report rumors of very large demand for EUR/JPY at the 16:00 GMT fixing. “Yards and yards” is how the rumor was spread to me. Perhaps the Japanese automaker buying is somehow connected. Renault owns Nissan and perhaps they have some sort of intra-company payment going through.
UPDATE: 3 yards of EUR/JPY to buy is the more precise rumor.
