The Strategic Economic Dialogue talks between China and the US wound up today but with so much going on elsewhere, they have been pushed to the back pages. Of course there was no big “news” item (eg Yuan revaluation) but the tone was very conciliatory with Premier Wen, thankfully, not involved.
Tim Geithner’s only comment on Yuan revaluation was “that time will come”. Whilst this will not please a few edgy US senators there was little else expected especially given that the Yuan is up around 5% on a trade weighted basis.
