Further to the earlier story where Spain down sized their growth forecast and will miss their deficit target, the EU has given will decide whether to give them an extension until 2016. The EC decision will be announced May 29.
EU commission has stated that;
Analysis of Spanish growth forecasts shows more time to cut budget deficit would make sense
No point in having rules if you can’t change them willy nilly.
