Politico reports

EU US

The report mainly highlights that negotiations between the two parties are seen as an act of 'political theater', with both sides seemingly to have insurmountable obstacles which would seem to 'kill off trade talks' even before they have begun.

Brussels is still looking to prevent Trump from imposing a 25% tariff on European cars, in fear that it could result in a blown-out affair that would see both parties nibble at each other on trade. But at the same time, they aren't willing to negotiate with the US "with a gun to their heads". Do be reminded that the US still haven't lifted their duties on steel and aluminium on European nations.

Does this remind anyone of how the US-China trade war started? Yup, here we go again. Over the next few months, just be wary of this matter as it could spell further trouble for the German/Eurozone economy with exports demand in the region already suffering.
