James K. Galbraith sifts through the wreckage of Greece (and Europe)

Galbraith writes a non-stop punchline in Harper's today.

"SYRIZA was not some Greek fluke; it was a direct consequence of European policy failure. A coalition of ex-Communists, unionists, Greens, and college professors does not rise to power anywhere except in desperate times."

He compares Germany to the Soviet Union rolling the tanks into Czechoslovakia in 1968 in the way it crushed any remaining sympathy.
