Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts
Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get things going in the session ahead. It's all about the risk mood to start the day as markets are engulfed by fears surrounding the new coronavirus outbreak situation.
There's still plenty of uncertainty in the air and that is weighing on risk assets (stocks, aussie, kiwi, oil, commodities, emerging markets) as we see safety/haven flows prevail.
The yen is leading gains in the currencies space as bonds continue to stay bid with 10-year Treasury yields down to their lowest level since October, 1.64% currently.
It's all about trying to navigate through the risk environment and as long as coronavirus fears continue to make major headlines around the globe, this theme will carry on for quite some time yet - potentially few more weeks or even months perhaps.
