Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts
Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get things going here on the session. It's all about the move in bonds so far today as global bond yields continue to slump and that has in turn caused a bit of a drag in equities now to start the European morning.
European equities are at flat levels alongside US futures and that's leading to more indecisive sentiment among FX with major currencies seen bouncing back and forth on slight dollar weakness earlier on.
One of the main narratives at the moment is how much is the Fed leaning towards cutting rates? That's the question that markets are trying to figure out now as the tug of war battle ensues between dollar bulls and bears.
In my view, currencies are still in a state of flux and that's making any clear direction a little hard to read. Gold seems to be the clearest trade over the past week but price is trading towards the high side at the moment so other than that, it's a bit of a tough time to search for good opportunities until markets reach a conclusion to the above question.
