Differences still remain on withdrawal agreement

UK Brexit minister Raab says:

  • negotiations with the EU have intensified
  • there are some differences on the withdrawal agreement
  • discussing proposal on linkage between withdrawal agreement and future ties
  • we will not accept anything that threatens the constitutional integrity of the UK
  • engaging with EU on alternative backstop proposal
  • we continue to press our case for future relationship
  • we must hold our nerve and confident reach a deal by autumn
  • time for EU to match pragmatism that we have shown
  • we are also expediting the preparations for no deal
  • we want EU citizens to stay in event of no deal
  • wants EU to make some reassurances to UK citizens in the EU
  • We will not sign up to an indefinite customs union with the backstop
  • October EU summit will be an important milestone.

The comments from Raab are a little less "bullish" on a deal.
