–CLG: UK Nov House Prices Down 0.1% m/m; Up 4.0% y/y
LONDON (MNI) – Government data from the department of Communities
and Local Government showed UK house prices only fell marginally on the
month in November.
Data from the Communities and Local Government showed house prices
were down 0.1% on the month and stood up 4.0% on the year. The CLG data
lag behind private sector surveys and these too showed modest
month-on-month falls in November.
The Halifax November data showed house prices down 0.2% on the
month while the Nationwide data reported a 0.3% fall. The subsequent
December Halifax survey showed the rate of house price falls
accelerating, with prices falling 1.3% on the month but Nationwide
reported a 0.4% increase.
The CLG data showed the average mix-adjusted UK house price was
stg208,585, with the average house price down 0.6% in the three months
to November compared to a rise of 0.9% in the three months to August.
