UK July jobless claims have come in at +24,900, slightly better than the median forecast of +28,000. The claimant count rate has come in at 4.9%, exactly in line with the median forecast.
However, the ILO unemployment rate has edged up to 7.8%, worse than the median forecast of 7.7%, and the highest since October-December 1996.
Cable marginally firmer post release, presently up about 10 points at 1.6445.
