Theresa May comments in an interview with BBC Radio
- Backstop would be integral to any deal with the European Union
- It is clear some in parliament want to frustrate Brexit
- It is the government's duty to deliver on Brexit
- The risk now is UK ends up with no Brexit at all
- No unilateral right for UK to pull out of backstop
- There should not be another referendum on Brexit
Nothing new here coming from May. There is still a distinct lack of belief that she will be able to pull enough votes out of the hat ahead of Tuesday's vote, and that will continue to limit any pound gains until then.
GBP/USD sits at 1.2714 curently, a little lower on the day still. EUR/GBP is flat at 0.8908 currently.
