UK PRESS: UK’s Royal Mail has lifted one of the biggest clouds over its
future with a deal in which postal workers could receive pay rises worth
6.9 per cent over three years and greater job security in return for
delivering a “transformation” of the business, the FT reports. The deal,
if accepted by members of th Communication Workers Union in a ballot,
will avert the threat of further disruption and allow the state-owned
operator to continue its stg 2bn modernisation programme, the paper
says.
