One year to get a referendum off the ground
A UK Gov't paper looked briefly (it's one side of A4) at the timescale necessary to call a General election.According to the UK political correspondent Chris Mason
A government source told me it suggests "in excess of a year" would be needed before another referendum.
That would mean Article 50 would need a decent extension to allow for a referendum. It would also keep the UK in Europe in time for the European elections, which would be rather strange...Anyway, just theory for now.
