And that will be the tagline for now. But even if we do see an Article 50 extension, it would depend on the extension date. Should the extension be up until 1 July, then they would not need to participate in the European Parliament elections because parliament will sit for the first time only on 2 July.

So, technically an extension to Article 50 would not necessarily mean that the UK will participate in said elections unless the extension date surpasses 2 July.
