Green shoots are turning brown as far as the beleaguered US consumer is concerned. Sentiment slipped to 64.6 in July from the final June reading of 70.8. Forecasts were for a tiny dip to 70.5.
Stocks are turning south once again as the US consumer looks less and less likely to dig the global economy out of recession.
