Luke Letlow won election to Congress to represent Louisiana. He contracted the coronavirus infection on December 18 and was admitted to hospital soon after.
He has now passed away, survived by a wife and two children, He was only 41 years old.
Just awfully sad news for a man in the prime of his life, and his family.
The virus continues to cut a swathe through the US, and many other countries also.
