US DATA: Initial jobless claims -1k to 428k in June 25 wk, above
expectations of 420k, and with 429k level reported June 18 wk unch. In
the previous report, six states were estimated due to technology issues
with receiving the data, but a Labor analyst says after receiving data
from states, the claims level came in very close to the initial
estimate, hence no change. Only Alaska estimated in this June 25 report.
Unadjusted claims +8,998 to 403,284 vs seas. factors’ expectation of
+9.5k. The 4-wk moving avg +500 to 426,750 in June 25 wk. Continuing
claims -12k to 3.702m in the June 18 employmenr survey wk. Continuing
claims were 3.718m in May 14 survey week.
