US DATA: Initial jobless claims -26k to 359k in Sept 22 wk below
the 378k expected and the lowest since July 21, 2012 when they were
357k. Continuing claims -4k to 3.271 mln and 60k below the 3.331 mln
level in the August 18 continuing claims survey week. A labor analyst
said there was ‘nothing unusual’ in the report but that there were was
some minor residual effects from hurricane Isaac boosting the claims
figure.
