US DATA: July new home sales +3.6% to 372k SAAR vs 365k expected and
following mixed revisions to the prev two months. The sale pace was the
same as May’s revised pace, which was the highest since 422k in April
2010. In July, sales were up sharply in the NE and MW and down slightly
in the South and West regions. Supply of new homes -0.7% to record low
142k and combined with the sales jump pulled the months supply down to
4.6 vs 4.8 in June and 6.7 a year ago. The median new home sales price
-2.1% m/m to $224,200, -2.5% yr/yr.
