The loonie is weaker on the back of the comments here as USD/CAD rises from 1.2930 levels to 1.2967 before tailing off a bit now. NAFTA talks have certainly gone quiet for a while and the longer this drags on, it's not looking optimistic for the loonie.
A deal may very well be in the works but right now there's little suggestion of one coming and that could weigh down the loonie for a bit - or at least prevent further gains in the currency on the day.
