US - Japan trade talks likely scheduled for September 21

Reuters quoting an unnamed source for the talks to commence between Japan's economy minister Motegi and US Trade representative Lighthizer

Japan seems to have swing into President Trump's spotlight on trade issues

When Adam posted this we saw the yen gain immediately after:

• Japan has been curiously quiet in the trade war, that may be about to change

It seems weird the yen would gain on news like this but the market response to escalations in the trade war have been to send funds into the yen and out of 'risk'. Sometimes it pays to observe. ;-)
