US non-proliferation envoy Ford said the US is not seeking to reopen or renegotiate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action deal but wants a supplementary agreement.
The JCPOA is the 2015 agreement between Iran and China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States and Germany.
This is a tricky headline because US bureaucrats often say one thing and the White House does another. Trump has warned that the US would 'withdraw' from the deal on May 12, which is the next deadline for waiving sanctions.
