US stocks open higher. Chicago PMI coming up at 9:45 AM ET/13:45 GMT

The US major stock indices are opening with decent gains.

• S&P index is up about 9 points or 0.38%
• The Nasdaq index is up 26 points or +0.42%
• The Dow is up about 80 points.

Technically, the S&P is moving away from the 50 day MA at 2451.71. That is now risk for longs.

Coming up is the Chicago PMI with the expectations of 58.5 vs 58.9 last month

At 10 AM Et, the US Pending home sales are expected to rise 0.4% vs 1.5% last month
