Volkswagon better than expectations given the emissions problems

Volkswagon is reporting flat sales for October which beats analysts exectations (-8.9% estimate). Honda meanwhile showed an 8.6% increase in October but this was weaker than estimates of +9.1%.

The numbers so far are showing better than expected sales. The 18.2 annualized pace from last month, coupled with this month's figures is the best two-month stretch in sales in 15 years according to Bloomberg.

GM is forecasting 18.2M annualized pace in October. This would equal the pace in September and be the first time since 2000 where the sales exceeded 18.0 million pace.
