Some weekend pieces from Europe:

Sweden's Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson said the government will draft a new bank tax proposal

  • Its initial proposal was scrapped
  • Unclear if new bill will be ready before the 2018 election

Meanwhile, down south:

Italian Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan has said he wil not be resigning

  • A report in La Stampa newspaper on Sunday said he threatened to resign if reforms & planned privatizations are not implemented

Nope says Paddy:

  • "totally unfounded"
  • "The minister calls the rumors of his resignation 'absurd' and instead confirms his determination to press ahead in coming months with the reform efforts and the moves to rebalance the budget and to support growth launched by the Italian government in 2014," the ministry said.
